People who play sports usually feel better than people who have money, especially when they have a very high income.

Money doesn’t make you happy if you don’t make a lot of money. On the contrary, physical activity reduces the number of bad days. These are the results of a joint study by researchers from Yale and Oxford, UK, published in The Lancet.
Too much income or too much sport cancels out the result.

Regular exercise allows you to have happier days. Scientists note that people who exercise regularly feel bad for an average of 35 days a year, and those who do not participate in competitions feel bad for another 18 days. To reach these conclusions, researchers have collected data on the physical and mental behavior of more than 1.2 million Americans. They were asked to answer questions such as: “How often have you felt bad in the last 30 days, for example, due to stress, depression or emotional problems? Participants were also asked about their income and physical activity.

However, a very high income or a high level of physical activity does not produce the same results. For example, the researchers found that an income of 25,000 euros per month allows people who earn that money to be less stressed and have the same results as those who exercise regularly. Too much activity leads to mental health problems.

Team sports are better

Based on these results, the researchers were able to compile a series of tips on how to be physically happy. The relationship between duration of sports and mental stress is U-shaped,” study author Adam Hekrud analyzed in an interview with the German newspaper “Die Welt. The exercise of sports helps to improve mental health, when it occurs within a certain period of time. For example, you should do three to five sports activities per week lasting 30 to 60 minutes.

In addition to these recommendations, the researchers noted that not all sports have the same effect. Playing team sports involves socialization that can improve mental health. Cycling, aerobics, and gymnastics, while not team sports, have the same mental health characteristics. Conclusion: To be absolutely happy, you have to be wealthy and exercise regularly.
